The Sutherland Communications Rural Fire Brigade is part of the NSW Rural Fire Service – the world’s largest volunteer fire service.
What we do
We are one of the many brigades of the NSW Rural Fire Service – the world’s largest volunteer fire service.
Our members provide communications and incident management support for NSW RFS members and other emergency personnel who attend a range of incidents and activities across Sutherland Shire and interstate which include:
- Bush and grass fires
- House and structure fires
- Storm damage
- Search and rescue
- Motor vehicle accidents
Members of the Sutherland Communications Brigade also attend bushfires and fire hazard reductions, and will work with other brigades in providing local area command. All members can undertake full firefighting training.
We also take part in community education, bushfire mitigation and fundraising activities.
